September 2003 Dear Sisters and Brothers: You are cordially invited to attend the stated meeting on Friday, September 26, 2003 at 7:30 p.m., for the purpose of receiving petitions, balloting, and transacting any business that may legally come before the Chapter. Sister Officers may wear colored gowns. This will be our Annual Meeting for the Chapter and Election of Officers for the 2003-2004 term. Hostess- for the evening will be Sister

Spencer Initiated October 28, 1949 Passed on July 13, 2003 There are stars that go out in the darkness, whose silvery light shineth on; There are roses whose perfume lingers, when the flowers are faded and gone; There are hearts full of love and sweetness, whose life current no longer flows; Still their goodness lives on with the living, like the soul of the star and the rose. Sympathy- Is extended to Sister Edythe Spencer on the death of her husband; to Brother Max I. Silber on the death of his son; to Brother Charles R. Harris, Jr., P.P., on the death of his sister; to Sister Beverly F. Burleigh, P.M., on the death of her brother; and to Sister Marjorie H. O'Neal on the death of her brother. Thinking of You- Get well wishes are extended to Sister Patricia W. Hills, P.G.M., who has been hospitalized over the summer and is now at the Greenbriar Rehabilitation Unit. Brother H. "Van" Vliet is now home after a brief few days in the hospital. Also we wish Sister Pamela G. Williams, P.M., well in her recovery from foot surgery; and Sister V. Irene Prevost, P.M., on her recovery from eye surgery. Congratulations- We are so proud of Sister Shelley M. Gullett who received the Loyalty Day Service Award from VFW Post 483 and the Ladies Auxiliary last May for all her hard work in the community! Learning Center- Is looking for volunteers this fall. Please see Sister Lisa if you are able to volunteer for this wonderful cause. Continue to collect the following: pencils, pencil grips, pencil erasers, dry erase markers, scotch tape, or pens, and bring them with you to our next meeting. The center is in need of these items on a regular basis. There is a box in the lobby where you can place these items. Thank you! This is the ongoing service project of Sister Lisa and Brother Ray.
OES Breakfast to benefit Rainbow Pledge-The next breakfast will be held on Sunday, September 21st, from 7:30-11 a.m. Everyone is invited. All proceeds go to the Pledge Girls' projects. NH Grand Chapter-The "Session of Friends" of the Grand Chapter of NH was held at the Holiday Inn and Convention Center in Manchester on August 21-23. We are honored to have had Sister Bonnie L. Carbary, P.M., elected to the office of Associate Grand Conductress, and Brother Brian J. Smith, P.P., appointed as Grand Chaplain for the 2003-2004 year. Participating were Grand Representative of Minnesota, Sister Lisa J. Markarian, P.M., Grand Representative of North Dakota, Sister Edith C. Holmes, Grand Representative of Nebraska, Brother Brian J. Smith, P.P., and Grand Representative of Massachusetts, Sister Lisa F. Britko, W.M. Grand Pages were Sisters Shelley M. Gullett, Ellen M. Morrill, P.M., Charlotte A. Callahan, and Lisa F. Britko, W.M. Assistant Grand Sentinels were Brothers Raymond M. Flynn, W.P., John Callahan, Brian J. Smith, P.P., and Ronald E. Carbary.
