September 2004 Dear Sisters and Brothers: You are cordially invited to attend the stated meeting on Friday, September 24, 2004 at 7:30pm, for the purpose of receiving petitions, balloting and transacting any business that may legally come before the Chapter. Sister Officers may wear colored gowns. This will be our Annual Meeting for the Chapter and Election of Officers for the 2004 - 2005 term. Please join us! Let the memory of their kindness and love, live on through us. It is in this way that their heart will go on forever. Sympathy - Is extended to Sister Julie Marciello on the death of her father. Thinking of You - Sister V Irene Prevost, PM, who has not been feeling well. Congratulations to Brother John W Jackson who was appointed Grand Representative of Manitoba in NH. Also congratulations to Sister Katherine M Peringer on the birth of her new baby, Aria Luna. We were also happy to see Sister Marylyn M Young who was able to work at the Olympic Games due to her many years of service with McDonalds. Collection for the Masonic Learning
Center - We will be taking up
a collection of school supplies to be given to the Masonic Learning
Center at our September meeting. They are in need of such items
as: pencils, pencil grips, pencil erasers, dry erase markers,
scotch tape, or pens. Grand Chapter - The "Bridges of Peace and Love Session" of the Grand Chapter of New Hampshire was held at the Raddison Hotel and Convention Center in Manchester on August 26 - 28, 2004. Participating were Sister Bonnie L Carbary, PM, Associate Grand Conductress and Brother Brian J Smith, PP, Grand Chaplain. Our Grand Representatives were Sisters Joan L Smith, PM, Grand Representative of Nebraska, Lisa F Britko, PM, Grand Representative of Massachusetts, Ellen M Morrill, PM, Grand Representative of Scotland, and Brother John W Jackson, WP, Grand Representative of Manitoba. Personal Grand Pages were Stacy M Desrosiers, WM, Shelley M Gullett, Charlotte A Callahan, Sharon M Jackson and Ellen M Morrill, PM. In addition, Brothers Larry D Gullett and John W Jackson, WP, assisted by Sisters Linda A Maynard and Shelley M Gullett, presented the American Flag during the sessions. We were also honored to have Sister Lisa J Markarian, PM, give the tribute to the Minnesota State Flag in honor of our MWGM who was attending our sessions. During sessions we were also pleased to have Sister Ruth J Holmes, PM, present the Scholarship Awards and Bro Allen D Durfee, Potentate, bring greetings on behalf of Bektash Shrine. During Saturday afternoon, Pilgrim Chapter also received First Place for the Travel Award. Sisters Joan L Smith, PM, and Lisa F Britko, PM, won First and Second place in the individual category of the Travel Award respectively. During the Saturday evening installation, we were very proud to see Sisters Bonnie L Carbary, PM, installed as Grand Conductress and Lisa F Britko, PM, as Grand Adah. We were also happy to see Brother Walter G Chapman, PP, and now WP of Ionic-Ragged Mtn Chapter in Franklin, installed as Associate Grand Patron. Fez-tival of Trees - Pilgrim Chapter will be donating a decorated
Christmas Tree to the Bektash Fez-tival to trees in November.
The theme of the tree will be "101 Ways to Make a Difference".
All those interested in donating Nashua Assembly #9, IORG - The Rainbow Girls will be holding their next meeting on Thursday, September 16th. We were very happy to see many of our Rainbow girls at our Grand Chapter Session as they performed an opening march on Thursday night! Rainbow Pledge Group - Pledge Mom, Sister Sherry M Jackson (598-2682) and the Pledge girls are actively looking for new members. Please call Mom Sherry if you know of a girl age 8-11 years old who would like to join. OES Breakfast to benefit Rainbow Pledge - The next breakfast will be held on Sunday, October 17, 2004 from 7:30-10:30am. Everyone is invited. All proceeds this month go toward the activities of the Pledge girls. There will not be a September breakfast.
