June 2010 Dear Sisters and Brothers: You are cordially invited to attend the stated meeting on Friday, June 25, 2010 at 7:30pm, for the purpose of receiving petitions, balloting, and transacting any business that may legally come before the Chapter. Sister Officers may wear colored gowns. This is our Annual Awards Night. We will honor our Past Matrons and Past Patrons, as well as honor our 25-, 50-, 60-, and 65-year members. Those receiving recognition for their many years of membership in our Order are as follows: 65-yrs: Edith C. Holmes QS; 60-yrs: Mildred E. Kirkwood, Pauline B. Lawrence; 50-yrs: Irving C. Cable PP, Beatrice E. Gilker, Katherine M. Norcross, Richard E. Norcross, Ellen D. Winters; 25-yrs: Joyce E. Brown PM, Marsha K. Gray, Phyllis A. Lackie PM, Randy S. McMullen, Frederick W. Pauling. Collation – Under the direction of Sister Lois A. Taylor, A.M., assisted by Sisters Judy A. Porter and Jacqueline E Poisson and Brother Norman J. Poisson. Special Collection for the evening: Please bring to this meeting our collection items to donate such as wash clothes, band aids, toothbrushes, hair combs/brushes etc for ‘Health Kits for Haiti Relief-Children’s Needs’ –a service project ongoing at the First Baptist Church in Hudson. Congratulations to Sister Stacy M Desrosiers, PM, on being appointed Grand Adah to the Grand Family for 2010-2011; to Sister Lisa K Hollis, PM, who was recently installed a Deputy Grand Marshal at Massachusetts Grand Chapter, and to Sister B. Judith Fenner, PGM, and Brother Frank H. Fenner, PGP, who performed the floral addendum; to Sisters Nikia A. Quesnel and Ariel N. Robey on their upcoming graduations from High School, Sisters Jennifer H. Bean and Jessica L. Alexander for their graduations from college; to our Brothers who were installed into office for their second year in NH Consistory –Scottish Rite; and a special congratulations to Sister Beverly F. Burleigh, PM, upon her 90 years young birthday! Sickness and Distress: Sisters Ruth J. Holmes, PM, who is currently undergoing outpatient treatments for cancer at local hospital; Sister Jackie Poisson had recent back surgery and is currently in Rehab; Brother Norm Poisson is recovering at home from recent knee problem; Sister Beverly F. Burleigh, PM, was recently in the hospital but doing well now; Brother Richard I. Poole, PGP, is now home in Georgia after being in Rehab after foot surgery. Continue to keep Sisters Elaine Strand, Josephine Millett, Ellen Winters, Jeannette L. Healey, PM, and Brother Abbott Rice on the prayer list. All could use prayers, cards, and get well wishes! Welcome to Sisters Ariel N. Robey, Meryon S. Miner, PGM, and Cheryl Burling who were initiated and affiliated at our regular meeting in May. Sympathy is extended to Brother Frederick Duncan, PGP, on the loss of his wife, Sister Marion F. Duncan, PM, and to the Grand Family of NH and to the family of Sister Charlotte M. Grimsley, PM, Grand Martha, upon her passing on May 20. Affiliated October 24, 1980 Pilgrim Chapter #55 Died May 16, 2010 A 36-year member but laugh and talk to me as if I were beside you there.”
Nashua Assembly #9 I.O.R.G.: Meetings are held on the first and third Thursdays of each month at 7: 00 pm. OES members are encouraged to attend any event. The next meeting is June 17 where they will perform initiation. All are invited to attend NH Grand Assembly on July 2-4 at the Nashua Marriott. Rainbow Pledge Group: The pledge girls are actively looking for new members! Please call Sisters Sharon M. Jackson, PM, Pledge Mom at 603-598-2682 or Sister Stacy M. Desrosiers PM, at 579-0519 if you know of a girl between 6 & 11 years old who would like to join. Our Sparkles-a group for girls age 4-6 years old-also meet at that time. Please contact Sister Stacy about being an Eastern Star Grandma to one of the Pledges. The Old Fashion Degree Team will have a rehearsal, Sunday, July 25 at 2pm. We are currently looking for new team members for our performance scheduled in May 2011. If you are interested, please contact Sister Susan J.
