January 2010 Dear Sisters and Brothers, You are cordially invited to attend the stated meeting on Friday, January 22, 2009 at 7:30pm, for the purpose of receiving petitions, balloting, and transacting any business that may legally come before the Chapter. Sister Officers must wear colored gowns. Collation: Under the direction of Sister Lois A. Taylor, AM, assisted by Sisters Judy A. Porter and Jacqueline E Poisson and Brother Norman J. Poisson. Congratulations to Sister and Brother Chrissy and Ken Ziehm on the birth of their baby boy on December 15. Sickness and Distress: Robert Norton, PGP, is inpatient at Concord Hospital recovering from extensive Heart surgery and could use cards and well wishes. Sympathy is extended to Sister Mary Richardson whose brother passed away in December; to Sister Laurie Bettencourt Kelly and Sister Nancy Bettencourt on the passing of their grandmother and mother-in-law. Letters for Scholarship: Educational Scholarships for Eastern Star members and their family members are available through NH Grand Chapter. Only one applicant is allowed yearly per Chapter. If you or a family member is interested in being considered to be sponsored by our Chapter for this OES Scholarship you need to submit a letter to the Chapter secretary no later than February 25. The letter should be brief and include name, connection to Eastern Star, college attending, field of study, extracurricular activities, and any other pertinent information which would make you a qualified candidate. The Chapter will read and vote on who we will sponsor this year for the OES Scholarship at our February meeting. Nashua Assembly #9 I.O.R.G.: Meetings are held on the first and third Thursdays
of each month at 7:00 pm. OES members are encouraged to attend
any event. The next meetings are January 7 and 21. Installation
of Officers is January 10 at 11am, Ariel Robey, WA-Elect. Penguin Plunge: Sister Joan Smith as the Supreme Deputy and Brother Jeffrey Brown as Worthy Patron are planning to plunge into the Atlantic Ocean on February 7. This is to help raise money with the Rainbow Girls for the Special Olympics of NH at the Penguin Plunge event at Hampton Beach. They would LOVE donations! Visitation Preparation: Please continue to bring in all huggables (stuffed animals for children) for our upcoming visitation in March. We are also still looking for a person to chair the Chapter quilting project for the WGM/WGP Quilting Project. Please contact the Worthy Matron for more details. Directory: The new edition of the 2009 Nashua Masonic Family Directory is now available at a bargain price of $3.00. It is also available on CD at a cost of $2.00. Contact Sister Lisa J.M. Murder Mystery Dinner Night: Please put this on your calendar as we gear up for our fundraiser to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Our own members of the Chapter will be performing in what will become an interesting evening. The date is Friday, April 30 in Nashua. More details to follow!
