December 2011 Dear Sisters and Brothers: You are cordially invited to attend the stated meeting on Friday, December 23, 2011 at 7:30 pm, for the purpose of receiving petitions, balloting, and transacting any business that may legally come before the Chapter. Sister Officers may wear colored gowns. “Helping the Cold and Needy” is our theme this month; please bring mittens, hats, and/or scarves to be donated to those in need. Collation – Under the direction of Sister Lisa J. M. Proulx, P.M., A.M., assisted by Sister Judy A. Porter and Brother Robert M. Porter, November meeting,
we welcomed Sister Linda D. Riggs as an affiliated member
to our Chapter, and Brother John J. Shurman, II, W.P., P.P.,
Magdalene Chapter #28 OES, Maynard, MA, Grand Warder of MA, OES,
and Sister Jean S. Hart, Conductress of Magdalene who
brought bracelets that can be purchased for a donation that will
benefit a scholarship in memory of Sister Heidi J. Schmelzer,
P.M. After the meeting, the men of Pilgrim Chapter entertained
us with their own rendition of Jeopardy, OES Style and all had
a great time answering questions on History, Rules and Regulations,
NH Then and Now, and other great trivia! Thank you to all who
helped make the evening Dues and Assessment: Some members still have not paid their dues for 2011. Please check to see if you have your dues card in your wallet, and if not, send the fee into the Secretary as soon as possible. Dues notices for 2012 went out with the November bulletin. Dues this year is $30.00 per person and $10.00 for Special Assessment for Temple Repair Fund. Please help the Chapter by paying in a timely manner. Need Help Getting to a Meeting? If at any time you would like to come to a meeting and are unable to drive, or need help getting to and from the Nashua Temple, please do not hesitate to contact the Worthy Matron, Worthy Patron, or the Secretary and we will arrange for transportation for you! Dog Project for NH Grand Chapter OES Scholarships: If you, or a relative, are interested in applying
for the Nashua Assembly #9 I.O.R.G. and Pledge & Sparkles: Meetings are held on the first and third Thursdays of each month at 7:00 pm. OES and Masonic members are encouraged to attend ALL events. The next meetings are December 15 and January 5. Installation will be held on January 7 at 10:30 a.m. Please feel free to contact Mrs. Deborah A. Wall, M.A. for more information regarding any Rainbow events at (603) 494-9299. For Pledges and Sparkles, please call Sister Sharon M. Happy Birthday and Happy Anniversary to all of our Members celebrating Birthdays and Anniversaries in December Congratulations to Sister Joyce Brown, P.M., Grand Ruth, and Brother Henry Brown, P.P., who celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary December 5! Sickness and Distress: Get Well wishes continue to go out to Sister Edith C. Holmes who is currently in the Courville Rehab Center, to Sister Jeannette L. Healey, P.M., who had recent surgery at Lakes Regional Health Center, to Brother C. Wayne Libby, Jr. who had recent surgery, to Sister Phyllis A. Lackie, who has been under the weather, and to Sister Beverly F. Burleigh, P.M., who is at home. They would all enjoy calls, cards or a visit. Please also check with the Sister Joan if you have not signed up to visit some of our shut-ins and wish to do so. Sympathy is extended to Sister Joan L. Smith, P.M., on the death of her mother, to Brother Brian J, Smith, A.P., P.G.P., on the loss of his mother-in-law and Sisters Tracey L. Thompson, and Allison E. Smith on the loss of their grandmother; to Sister Patti A. Fuller on the loss of her husband; to Sister Shelley M. Gullett, P.G.M., on the death of her brother; and we are also saddened by the loss of Theodore J Rohr, P.G.P. of NH Grand Chapter and sympathy is extended to his family. Rehearsals for new term: There will NOT be a rehearsal on December 18! Please enjoy the time with your family. Please come and enjoy the breakfast (8:30 a.m.-10:00 a.m.) and support the Pledge Girls. The Northern Constellations Can-Am Weekendwill be held at the Radisson Hotel in Manchester New Hampshire on February 17, 18, and 19, 2012 This is a great time for Sisters and Brothers from New England and Canada to share friendships and ideas The event is being organized by Judith L Rozzi P.G.M., who is General Chair; hotel reservations are due to Jean Van Stelten, Grand Secretary by January 28, and reservations for meals is due to Deb Golondzowski, P.M., by Feb 8. Please contact our Secretary for proper forms. The real Essence of the fraternal Spirit is to be ever mindful of the welfare of others, to bring cheer and gladness into other lives. So let us put heart and soul into every handclasp, greet each other as sisters and brothers, and enjoy life's sunshine together.'
