Pilgrim Chapter No. 55 Order of the Eastern Star Include List

December 2009

Dear Sisters and Brothers:

You are cordially invited to attend the stated meeting on Friday, December 18, 2009 at 7:30pm, for the purpose of receiving petitions, balloting, and transacting any business that may legally come before the Chapter. Sister Officers may wear colored gowns. We will be sharing our meeting night with Salem Chapter. Please bring a $10 wrapped gift for a Yankee swap.

Collation: Under the direction of Sister Lois A. Taylor, A.M., assisted by Sisters Judy A. Porter and Jacqueline E Poisson and Brother Norman J. Poisson.

Dues and Assessment: Enclosed with this Bulletin are Dues and Assessment notices for 2010. At our Sept. 2009 meeting, upon the suggestion of the Finance Committee, Chapter dues were increased yearly to $22. That fee, plus the per capita fee due to be paid to Grand Chapter, would make the total dues fee owed $27 by all members. The Assessment is from the Masonic Building Association for the Building Repair Fund and until further notice the Chapter will be assessed a fee of $10 yearly for each dues paying member (excludes members who have their dues remitted).

It was also voted that newly remitted/new 50-year members, would have their Chapter dues remitted ($22) however, they would be asked to pay the Grand Chapter per capita fee (presently $5) starting with 2010. All previous 50-year members are grandfathered and do not need to pay the per capita fee.

Sickness and Distress: Sister Ruth Holmes, P.M., had surgery on her foot and is home recuperating; Sister Elaine Strand was recently in the hospital and could use cards and well wishes; Brother Robert Norton, P.G.P., is inpatient at Concord Hospital awaiting surgery and could use cards and well wishes; Sister Deb Wall will be having knee surgery soon.
Shut in List: Included in this Bulletin is the updated shut in list. Please send them cards and well wishes when you can. The Worthy Matron will need assistance in visiting these Shut Ins at Christmastime. Please contact her if you can help out!

From the East:

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens Brown paper packages tied up with strings These are a few of my favorite things
Cream colored ponies and crisp apple streudels Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings These are a few of my favorite things
Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes Silver white winters that melt into springs These are a few of my favorite things

When the dog bites, When the bee stings When I’m feeling sad I simply remember my favorite things And then I don’t feel so bad
