Pilgrim Chapter No. 55 Order of the Eastern Star Include List

December 2007

Dear Sisters and Brothers:

You are cordially invited to attend the stated meeting on Friday, December 28, 2007 at 7:30 pm, for the purpose of receiving petitions, balloting, conferring of degrees, and transacting any business that may legally come before the Chapter. Sister Of.cers should wear white gowns to the meeting.

Dues - Your 2008 annual dues notice is included in this month’s bulletin. Unfortunately, we have had to increase our dues again—this time to $20.00 plus the Grand Chapter Per Capita Tax of $5.00, for a total of $25.00. This was caused by a substantial increase in our rent due to the ongoing renovations to our Masonic temple, as well as a loss of revenue from the Consistory suppers due to dwindling membership in the various Masonic bodies.

Collation – Under the direction of Sister Sharon M. Jackson, A.M., assisted by Sisters Nancy J. Molnar and Jacqueline E. Poisson. During collation this month, we will have an ornament swap. Please bring in a wrapped ornament and swap it for a new one for next year’s tree!

Congratulations are extended to our members who were installed as officers in their “sister” chapters: Loretta J. Kandres who was installed as Warder in Salem Chapter #67 in Salem. We also congratulate former Pilgrim Chapter members Walter G. Chapman, P.G.P., and Lillian Chapman, P.M., who were installed as Worthy Patron and Associate Conductress, respectively, in Priscilla Chapter #51 in Penacook, and Joyce Brady as Worthy Matron of Barstow Chapter #242 in Barstow, CA.

Sympathy is extended to Sister Julia Pitarys on the loss of her brother.

Sickness and Distress – Sister Shelley M. Gullett, A.G.C., recently underwent surgery and is at home recuperating nicely. Sister Phyllis A. Lackie, P.M., also underwent surgery and is recuperating very well. Prayers, cards, and calls would be much appreciated.

Monthly Donation – We will be collecting new, and used coats at the December meeting to be donated to the Salvation Army. Please support this worthwhile charity. Thank you to all those who brought in toys for the Santa Fund. We really appreciate your help!

Nashua Assembly #9, IORG – Meetings are held on the first and third Thursdays of each month at 7:00 pm. All OES members are welcome to attend any Rainbow meeting or event. The next meeting will be on Thursday, December 20, 2007. Please come and support our future!

Rainbow Pledge Group – The Pledge girls are actively looking for new members! Please call Sister Sharon M. Jackson, Pledge Mom at 598- 2682 if you know of a girl between 8 & 11 years old who would like to join.

OES Breakfast to benefit Rainbow Pledge The next breakfast will be held on Sunday, December 16, 2007 from 7:30-10:30 am. Everyone is invited. All proceeds will go towards the activities of the Pledge girls.

Pilgrim Chapter Cookbook – We still need more recipes to publish our Cookbook. Please contact Sister Gail F. Brown, P.M., at 603-320- 7009 with recipes, orders, or any questions.

Nashua Masonic Directory - The Nashua Masonic Directory is available for purchase at $2 per copy. Please contact Sister Lisa J. Proulx, P.M., at 673-2452 for a copy.

The Christmas Star
May the Light that shone
from the Christmas Star
On that night so long ago
Fall on you this Christmas night
and set your face aglow.
May it shine from your eyes.
May it rest in your mind.
May it burn in your Spirit bright.
May the Peace it spoke to a weary world.
Bring joy to your heart tonight.

From the East We look forward to seeing you all at our meeting on the 28th as we welcome new members into our beautiful Order.

Christmas is a special time of year to remember those who are close to our hearts. Bob and I wish for your days to be bright, and your hearts to be light. May the grace of Our Heavenly Father be with you all during this Christmas season. Have a Blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year.
